I am delighted and greatly encouraged to discover your thoughtful, balanced, and deeply encouraging website, Neylan. Your writing is clear and timely, rich and authentic. I recently mused about this very topic in my own blog, wondering if my own pioneer grandmothers were more like me even in their day, wondering if they dreamed of sharing their gifts and talents with the world in ways different than their contemporaries.

I find it poignant that you are following in the footsteps of your mother, sharing and giving voice to our diverse group of pioneer women. I send you much cheering, and look forward to reading your writings and your book. Thank-you!

I enjoyed your article and appreciated the several ways you addressed the topic. Your comments helped spur me to think about what I'm going to do with my time now that I'm out of the official working world and am focused on my child. Thanks for the thought provoking words!

My main takeaway is that I am not expected to change the world (and doing so if I end up with a large family would be quite a challenge), but if I decide to at least try, there are a few role models out there. And, as always, I am reminded that there are seasons to life and this season may just be for my family.
